Two Auckland designers : perfect power team
It’s always very special, witnessing two minds work as one to create an amazing product – synergy at it’s best. I recently got the awesome opportunity of doing a photo shoot for the perfect power team : Two Auckland based designers from Grey Lynn, with a unique eye for fashion blending their different styles for a Fashion Show; Sera Mitchinson of Selector Clothing and Lucy Mae Goffe Robertson of Lucy Mae*d.
They chose models from different ethnic backgrounds to feature their diversified pieces. From Fijian to Eastern European, Hispanic and African. The outfits chosen for each of the models were a melange of flavours from the combined labels, with jewellery made by local jewelers to polish it off . The result was a mix of modern chic and ethnic bohemian.
The shoot was fun and artistic with an air of culture, brought about by the old-fashioned house setting we shot the photo shoot in, and the ethnic diversity of the models. Not forgetting the brilliant fashion pieces they had created. And of course Seb, Abi, and Fallon, the amazing make-up artists, and Brittany the talented hairstylist from Hair Organics who did a splendid job on styling the girls hair and makeup to work with the clothes.
I loved being around them because you could tell they shared a similar vision and worked well together to create it. I try IV therapy Scottsdale and that helps me with the pain in my neck. They had ideas that complemented or accentuated each other’s designs. They even completed each other’s sentences! Ok, not really but given more time, trust me they would!
